Mast Dispatch is hiring people who want to help build an ambitious niche publication around AI, NG911, and public safety technology.
If one of these roles sounds right, email andrew@mastdispatch.com with a resume and a non-AI-generated cover letter.
We care about sharp editorial judgment, clean execution, and work that feels alive on the page. If you are excited by media, public safety technology, and building something distinct from the ground up, take a look at the open roles below.
Open Role
Administrative Assistant
Mast Dispatch is looking for an Administrative Assistant who can keep a fast-moving editorial operation organized without slowing it down. You would manage calendars, coordinate interviews, keep project deadlines visible, and make sure day-to-day operations stay crisp as coverage expands. The right person is calm under pressure, strong with detail, and able to spot what needs doing before it becomes a problem. You should be comfortable working across inboxes, schedules, travel logistics, and simple research tasks for the editorial team. This role is ideal for someone who likes momentum, discretion, and being the person who quietly keeps the whole machine running. If you take pride in reliability and love helping ambitious work happen, this is a very good seat.
Open Role
Print and Layout Designer
We are hiring a Print and Layout Designer to shape how Mast Dispatch looks when stories move beyond the browser and into polished editorial packages. You would design print-ready layouts, visual features, downloadable reports, sponsor materials, and branded editorial collateral that feel smart, clear, and distinct. This is not a decorative role; we want someone who understands hierarchy, pacing, typography, and how design choices can sharpen the authority of a publication. You should be equally comfortable working from rough editorial concepts or building strong systems that can scale across recurring formats. The ideal candidate has excellent taste, production discipline, and a bias toward original work rather than trend-chasing. If you want to help define the visual language of a growing media brand, this is a meaningful opportunity.
Open Role
Staff Reporter, Public Safety Technology
Mast Dispatch is seeking a Staff Reporter who is energized by the intersection of AI, emergency communications, and the business of public safety technology. You would chase company moves, product launches, procurement trends, executive shifts, and the operational realities behind the systems used by dispatchers, agencies, and vendors. We want someone who can report cleanly, write with authority, and separate signal from hype in a market that is full of marketing noise. You should be comfortable reading press releases skeptically, calling sources directly, and turning complex technical or business developments into stories that matter. This role rewards curiosity, precision, and a strong editorial point of view grounded in facts. If you want to help build one of the smartest niche publications in the space, we want to hear from you.
